You’ve probably seen a Jade Roller either in places like Marshall’s or on Instagram. I always wondered exactly what this roller is supposed to do and if it works to any degree. Let’s dive right into this and discuss my thoughts on this unique Chinese beauty tool.
What is a Jade Rolller?
Your probably wondering what a Jade roller really is. Jade rollers are an ancient Chinese beauty tool. The brand I purchased was by “Cala,” and it is a Rose Quartz Facial Roller. According to their description, “Rose quartz stone promotes drainage to reduce facial puffiness, dark circles and bags. It reduces stress and tension in the face and jaw. Lastly, it firms the skin, promotes elasticity and fights aging.” The way you use this is by using the larger stone in singular, upwards strokes to lift the cheeks, chin and forehead. The smaller stone is used under the eye area around the nose in small upwards and outwards motions.
Quartz stone is a naturally cool stone that, helps to improve and encourage the flow of fresh oxygen to the skin. Pores instantly appear smaller and skin feels tighter. I know you’re probably wondering if there is a significant difference between the jade stone or rose-quartz. I found the rose-quartz roller is a bit more durable than the jade. Rose quartz stays cool whereas Jade is adaptive in nature and tends to warm with skin contact.
I also enjoy using my jade roller for my evening skincare routine. I notice my skin absorbs my serums more effectively if I roll this on my skin post application. I usually store mine in my refrigerator to give it a cooling effect to my under eye area. I immediately noticed my under eye area appeared less puffy and more refreshed as it helps stimulate blood circulation and remove toxins from the skin.
It is important to finish the massaging technique by rolling the tool from the temples down to the neck to help drain any toxins and increase lymphatic drainage. I highly recommend you to refrigerate the roller prior to usage in order to maximize the cooling effects of the stone. It’s like a mini at home facial massage for your skin.
This tool is inexpensive and retails around $9.99 plus tax at Marshalls or Amazon, therefore, it’s definitely worth a try! I included a link to purchase a jade roller on Amazon for your convinience.
