With everyone on lock-down, you may be searching for ideas to keep you busy while you are stuck at home. I will list some ideas that I have been doing myself that are productive that you can add to your spring cleaning list.
Declutter your beauty stash
De cluttering your beauty products you have not used in the past 6 months or the wrong products for your skin type. There is no point to allow expired products to collect dust. Plus you may use expired produts without realizing they are expired and can possibly irritate your skin. If there are products you haven’t used in the past 6 months, toss them out or donate them since they most likely were not of use or interest to you anyway.
Update your products
Get rid of the wrong products for your skin type. Using incorrect skincare products will not only serve you justice, but is a waste of money. If you . Also between seasons, it is important not only to update, but to adjust your products accordingly. With warmer weather and humidity increasing, you need to up your skin’s hydration and SPF protection. Also, incorporating an antioxidant serum will help prevent environmental damage while preventing sun damage.
Clean your makeup brushes and phone
Clean your makeup brushes 1 x a week to prevent bacteria from building up. causing acne, and streaky makeup. Spring cleaning includes other beauty tools such as cleansing brushes or beauty blenders. To clean your brushes, you can simply use a mixture of 3 tbsp, dish soap, 2 tbsp. olive oil and a cup of water.
Organize your skincare collection
Another helpful tip is to organize the makeup and skincare products you use daily on your vanity or within reach. Meanwhile, store your non-essentials in bins and tuck them away. Below I have included links to shop different storage ideas for your cosmetics and skincasre products.
While we are on the topic of cleaning, don’t forget to sanitize your hands and phone daily to prevent spreading bacteria to your skin. Cheek/facial acne can be caused from bacteria on your phone rubbing against your face.
I use a bin to organize my skincare collection and a couple different acrylic vanities to organize my cosmetics. I place my frequently used products in the front of the bin and less frequently used skincare products in the back. For my makeup, I purchased a clear vanity from Amazon.
