I compiled some of the best skincare tips to help you on your path to glowing, more youthful-looking skin, naturally. There are 8 wonders for your skin. Keep reading to find out what these are.

APPLY SPF DAILY

You should apply sunscreen every two hours when you are going to be in the sun for hours at a time. Some products such as moisturizer or foundation contain sunscreen, however, it is not potent enough as sunscreen. While it can be beneficial to wear products that contain sunscreen, it is best to layer on SPF 30 daily, and reapply it every two hours if you are going to have direct exposure to the sun.

DRINK ENOUGH WATER

It is important to consume around 8 glasses of water a day. Water helps flush out toxins from the kidneys which helps promote clearer skin. Water also helps combat dehydration and add moisture to you skin. You can help reduce signs of aging with water consumption as it hydrates your skin. Last benefit of drinking water is it helps reduce swelling and inflammation of the skin, which can be advantageous for those with acne.

FEED YOUR SKIN-APPLY ANTIOXIDANTS

The foods you eat affect the health of your skin. Your skin is a representation of how healthy you are on the inside. Consuming antioxidants can do wonders for your skin by preventing free radical damage.

Foods rich in antioxidants include fish, spinach, berries, and green tea. When you eat healthy, the result is glowing and brighter skin. Common antioxidants include vitamins A, C, and E that may help minimize environmental effects (such as pollution) to the skin. ⁣

CLEANSE YOUR FACE

Not washing your face daily or going to sleep with your makeup on can cause your pores to become clogged. Throughout the day, our skin gets dirty with oil, dead skin cells, and toxins. Therefore, it’s crucial to wash your face at least 1-2 times a day (depending on your skin type) to prevent the harbor of bacteria and/or acne breakouts.

Just like it is important to wash your face even if you don’t use products daily, it is even more crucial to wash your face if you wear makeup. Even sleeping in makeup just one day can promote acne development/clogged pores that won’t probably show up as a breakout until 2 weeks later.

ADEQUATE DAILY REST

Getting 7-8 hours of sleep helps rejuvenate your skin. Did you know while we sleep, our skin cells go into repair mode? Old dead skin cells shed while sleeping, and new skin cells are coming to the surface of your skin. That is one of the main reasons why it is beneficial to apply your skincare topicals right before you go to sleep.

According to Thisworks.com, “Your skin moves into repair mode at night. Anti-inflammatory and anti-stress hormones are released.”

APPLY MOISTURIZER DAILY

Moisturizer is not only necessary to balance your skin’s PH level, but it helps combat dehydration. You can choose the proper moisturizer for your skin type. If your skin is oily, there are plenty of oil-free options that contain humectants such as hyaluronic acid or glycerin to add moisture to your skin. If your skin is dry, creamy moisturizers with oils work nice to help replenish your skin. For more tips on how to choose the proper moisturizer, read all about moisturizers here.

EXFOLIATE 2-3X A WEEK

First of all, please don’t forget to exfoliate 2-3 times a week. Exfoliation makes a world of a difference when it comes to perfecting your canvas. It helps shed dead skin cells sitting on the surface of your face and is a great way to prep your skin for face products. Exfoliating regularly can also help your skin prevent acne or blackheads by unblocking pores. The result is smoother skin when you apply your makeup.

CONSUME A HEALTHY DIET
